Mountain Access – Lift Tickets

What to expect for lift tickets 2020/2021 Season

  • Lift tickets will go on sale Dec. 8. Early season access is exclusively available to pass holders.
  • If guests are only interested in accessing the mountain for a few days this season – and have historically purchased lift tickets – an Epic Day Pass is a great option. This pass allows access from one day to seven days, provides up to 50% off lift tickets, comes with additional peace of mind with Epic Coverage, season-long value provided by Epic Mountain Rewards.
  • For the 2020/21 season, lift tickets will only be sold on Vail Resorts’ websites or through our call centers. Given the need to manage lift tickets sales, no lift tickets will be sold at the ticket window in resort.
  • We encourage guests to purchase in advance – though guests can purchase a same-day lift ticket online or through our call centers, subject to availability, and then pick up the lift ticket at the ticket window.

FAQs

Can guests purchase a lift ticket for any day of the season?

Beginning Dec. 8, guests will be able to purchase lift tickets in the core season (Dec. 8 – closing day) at our 34 owned and operated North American resorts, as long as there is inventory available.

Can guests make a reservation without a season pass?

Your lift ticket is your reservation. When you purchase your lift ticket, it is for a specific resort and specific date, therefore there is no need to make any further reservation.

Will lift tickets be refundable this year?

Lift tickets purchased in advance will be eligible for refunds if the refund request is made at least two days before the date of access. Guests can request a refund by contacting the call center.

Will multi-day lift tickets still have a grace period or will they be fixed?

Multi-day tickets will not have a “3 of 5” option, where guests purchase a certain number of days of skiing that can be used over a longer time frame. Multi-day lift tickets will be fixed, consecutive days this season so we can properly manage expectations and capacity.

Can guests access more than one resort with a lift ticket?

Lift tickets are for a specific resort on a specific day and are non-transferable. If guests would like more flexibility, we encourage them to consider an Epic Day Pass. This pass can be used to make a reservation at any resort on any day, if there is availability.
